Staircase Railings Toronto: Terms of Service for Quotes, Fabrication and Installation

These terms apply to the use of staircaserailingstoronto.ca and to quotes, consultations, fabrication and installation provided by Staircase Railings Toronto. Your signed written quote or contract for a specific project takes priority over these general terms where the two differ.

Staircase Railings Toronto designs, fabricates and installs custom staircases and railing systems in Toronto and the GTA, including:

Prices on this website are published CAD ranges, not quotes. The cost estimator gives a budget band only. Your price is set in a written, itemised quote after an in-home consultation and measurement, listing design fee, CAD drawings, materials, fabrication and installation separately. All prices are in Canadian dollars and applicable taxes (HST) are added.

3. Consultations, Drawings and Approvals

In-home consultations are free. We prepare CAD drawings to Ontario Building Code Section 9.8 (residential) or Section 3.4 (commercial). Fabrication starts only after you approve the drawings in writing. CAD drawings remain our property until the project is paid in full.

4. Permits

Where a building permit is required, the property owner or general contractor is responsible for applying. We supply permit-ready drawings and answer examiner questions. We never promise permit approval; approval is decided by the municipality. Condo owners are responsible for board and property manager approvals, which we can support with drawings and samples.

5. Deposits and Payment

Deposit and payment terms are set out in your written quote. Because stairs and railings are custom fabricated to your measurements, deposits cover materials and shop time and are generally non-refundable once fabrication has started.

6. Schedules and Site Conditions

Install dates are confirmed in writing once drawings are approved. Dates can move because of weather (for exterior work), site readiness, access, other trades or changes you request. You agree to provide safe access, power and a clear work area. Hidden conditions such as rot, failed framing or out-of-level floors found after work begins may require a written change order.

7. Changes and Cancellations

Changes after drawing approval are handled by written change order and may affect price and schedule. If you cancel after fabrication starts, you are responsible for work completed and materials ordered to that point.

8. Workmanship Warranty

Every project carries a written workmanship warranty covering our fabrication and installation, with terms stated on your quote. Glass, hardware and coating suppliers provide their own product warranties. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, impact, lack of basic maintenance (such as rinsing salt off exterior railings) or alterations by others.

9. Insurance

We are WSIB registered and carry $2M commercial general liability and $500K property damage coverage. Certificates are available on request.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Staircase Railings Toronto is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for any project is limited to the amount paid for that project.
