A weld made on a bench with the part clamped square is a better weld than one made kneeling on a landing, and a powder coat oven-cured in the shop outlasts a spray can touch-up done in your driveway. Treads milled from rough-sawn stock and dry-fit on a jig arrive ready to go in, which is why our install days are counted in days, not weeks. Yes. We test stain on an offcut of your actual flooring with low-VOC water-based finishes until it matches. We mill treads, nosings and handrails from the same species as your floor when possible (red oak, white oak, maple, walnut or cherry), then make sample boards and check them in your light, not ours.
