Our lead tech visits your Toronto or GTA property with glass swatches (12mm vs 15mm), wood grain boards and iron patina samples, then laser-measures rise, run and stringer angles.

Permit-Ready CAD Drawings and OBC Compliance
We draw every project to OBC Section 9.8 (residential) or Section 3.4 (commercial): 900-965mm handrail height, 100mm max baluster spacing, 42-inch guard on drops over 600mm. You approve every reveal before metal is cut. We never promise permit approval.

Written, Itemised Scope
Design fee, CAD drawings, materials, fabrication and install are itemised separately in writing.
Some Toronto shops over-charge for tread milling thinking clients won't check other quotes. We publish our CAD bands so you can.

In-Shop Fabrication in Etobicoke
Under founder Michael Bennett's supervision our crew mills rough-sawn hardwood, TIG and MIG welds every metal joint and dry-fits full spans on shop jigs at our 6,000 sq ft Etobicoke facility.

Home-Base Stair and Railing Know-How
Etobicoke is our home base. The 6,000 sq ft shop is minutes from most Long Branch, Mimico, Kingsway and Islington jobs, so templating visits, sample drop-offs and install days are easy to line up, and you can drop by to see your stair dry-fit on the jig.
Housing here runs in clear bands. The Kingsway was built mostly in the 1920s to 1940s with architect-approved Tudor homes, which often means oak stairs worth keeping. Long Branch mixes wartime houses, backsplits and early bungalows, where steep basement stairs with low headroom are the usual call.
Down on the lake, the Humber Bay Shores towers along Lake Shore Boulevard West bring balcony work. We handle the board drawings, colour samples and elevator bookings, then carry up pre-assembled aluminum or glass sections. We also built the curved staircase for The Kingsway Estates on Bloor West.
Lakeshore Homes, Kingsway Tudors and Condos We Build For
Long Branch bungalows (M8W) often have tight basement stairs with low headroom. We re-lay out the run in CAD, sometimes shifting the stair a few inches, so tall family members stop ducking.
Mimico waterfront condos (M8Z) want powder-coated aluminum or glass balcony railings that hold up to lake wind. We prepare board-ready drawings and colour samples and handle the elevator booking.
The Kingsway (M8X) is custom curved wood territory. We built The Kingsway Estates' curved staircase on Bloor West, and walnut and white oak foyer stairs are regular jobs in the older Tudor-style homes.
Islington (M9A) has plenty of mid-century split-levels with several short flights. Matching railings across every half flight so the house reads as one design is the trick, and straight-bar iron or framed glass usually does it.
Working Out of Our Own Backyard
This is home base, so scheduling is easy. Most Long Branch, Mimico and Islington jobs are a short run from the shop along The Queensway, Lake Shore Boulevard West or Kipling Avenue, and The Kingsway is a few minutes up Royal York Road.
Being local means we can do things other contractors charge extra for: a second templating visit if your drywall changes, a quick trip back with a different stain board, or a shop tour so you can see your stringers dry-fit before install day. Same-week consultations are normal here.
For Humber Bay Shores and Mimico condos along Lake Shore, we book service elevators, loading docks and property manager sign-offs weeks ahead, and plan balcony installs around the Gardiner traffic so crews are on site early.

Yes. The towers along Lake Shore Boulevard West need board-ready drawings, a colour sample and a service elevator booking; we handle all three and install powder-coated aluminum from $75-$155 per lin ft or glass-in-frame from $150.
Can you fix low headroom on a Long Branch basement stair?
Often. Long Branch has many wartime houses and backsplits with steep basement stairs. We check the framing, re-lay out the run in CAD and rebuild it with a code-height handrail, usually in 3 days on site.
Do you restore oak stairs in Kingsway Tudor homes?
Yes. Most Kingsway homes date from the 1920s to 1940s and many have oak stairs worth keeping. We refinish from $65 per tread, mill matching replacement treads, or build a new curved stair from $22,000 CAD.
