What you see: You want a floating, open-riser stair with frameless glass in a two-storey foyer, but the builder's kit either looks cheap or leaves gaps an inspector will flag.
Why it happens here: Lorne Park grew from an 1879 resort into large estate lots with big custom homes, and OBC 9.8 still limits riser and guard openings to 100mm however grand the foyer is.
How we fix it: We draw the stair in CAD with riser bars or thicker treads, then fit 15mm frameless glass railings templated on the finished treads.

Stair Know-How From Lorne Park to Streetsville
Mississauga work splits into three kinds of house. Lorne Park began as a lakeside resort in 1879 and today holds large estate lots with custom homes that want open-riser stairs and frameless glass. Erin Mills and Streetsville two-storeys usually need their builder oak spindles swapped for iron or glass.
Port Credit is different again. The Old Port Credit Village Heritage Conservation District runs from Lakeshore Road West down to the lake between Mississauga Road and the Credit River, and its homes usually get their original stairs refinished rather than replaced. We match replacement treads to the old oak and keep the newels.

Erin Mills (L5M) is full of 1990s builder stairs with oak spindles and carpet. The most common job here is swapping spindles for straight-bar iron or glass and refinishing the treads and handrail to match newer floors.
