## Oakville Railings Losing the Fight With the Lake?

### Stainless deck posts staining brown near Bronte Harbour

**What you see:** The deck or waterfront railing looks tired after a season or two, with brown streaks running down the posts and loose glass clips.

**Why it happens here:** Bronte sits on Lake Ontario around the harbour at Twelve Mile Creek, and lakefront lots there take spray and wind that lower-grade 304 stainless cannot handle.

**How we fix it:** We rebuild deck and outdoor railings in 316 marine-grade stainless with glass sized for the wind, welded in the shop and anchored into sound footings.

    Our lead tech visits your Toronto or GTA property with glass swatches (12mm vs 15mm), wood grain boards and iron patina samples, then laser-measures rise, run and stringer angles.
    
2.  Step 2
    
    ### Permit-Ready CAD Drawings and OBC Compliance
    
    We draw every project to OBC Section 9.8 (residential) or Section 3.4 (commercial): 900-965mm handrail height, 100mm max baluster spacing, 42-inch guard on drops over 600mm. You approve every reveal before metal is cut. We never promise permit approval.
    
3.  Step 3
    
    ### Written, Itemised Scope
    
    Design fee, CAD drawings, materials, fabrication and install are itemised separately in writing.
    
    Some Toronto shops over-charge for tread milling thinking clients won't check other quotes. We publish our CAD bands so you can.
    
4.  Step 4
    
    ### In-Shop Fabrication in Etobicoke
    
    Under founder Michael Bennett's supervision our crew mills rough-sawn hardwood, TIG and MIG welds every metal joint and dry-fits full spans on shop jigs at our 6,000 sq ft Etobicoke facility.

## Lakefront and Heritage Stair Know-How

Oakville asks for two very different kinds of work. **Bronte** grew around a harbour dredged in the 1850s, and its lakefront homes get 316 stainless for every outdoor guard. The **downtown** brings heritage restoration inside one of the town's four heritage conservation districts.

The First and Second Street district's homes went up in two waves, 1850 to 1900 and 1900 to 1930, and their stairs are usually worth refinishing rather than replacing. Exterior porch railings in the districts can need heritage approval, so we supply drawings up front.
